DAVID MICA JR. AND AUTUMN KARLINSKY have been named to leadership roles at Volunteer Florida. Mica, who will serve as chief executive officer, has worked as chief of staff of the Florida Lottery. Karlinsky, who will chair the Volunteer Florida Commission, holds philanthropic positions in Broward County and is involved in statewide and national organizations.

LINO MALDONADO has been selected to serve as chair of the 2018-2019 Visit Florida Board of Directors. Maldonado is vice president of operations, growth and innovation for Wyndham Vacation Rentals North America.

JASON WELTY has been named budget and communications director for the Florida Clerks of Court Operations Corporation. Welty served most recently as senior budget analyst for the House Justice Appropriations Committee and previously worked as legislative affairs director and chief of staff at the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice.

MICHAEL STARR HOPKINS is joining the firm CATECOMM. Hopkins, a former public defender, worked on the presidential campaigns of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

DAVID JOLLY has joined the firm Shumaker Advisors as executive vice president and principal. Jolly served in Congress from 2014 to 2017.

PHOEBEE R. FRANCOIS has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a Broward County judge. Francois, of Sunrise, has been a general magistrate/hearing officer for the 17th Judicial Circuit.

MITCHELL D. BISHOP has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott as a Union County judge. Bishop, of St. Augustine, is an assistant state attorney for the 7th Judicial Circuit and a judge advocate for the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves.

JULIUS DAVIS has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Transportation Commission. Davis, of Tampa, is president and chief executive officer of VoltAir, Inc. 

SCOTT WIGGINS, ED ARMSTRONG AND JEFFREY ADAMS have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Southwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board. Wiggins, of Tampa, is a civil engineer and former investment banker. Armstrong, of Dunedin, is an attorney with Hill Ward Henderson P.A. Adams, of St. Petersburg, is an attorney with Abbey Adams Byelick & Mueller, LLP.

JAMES RASMUSSEN has been reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Prepaid College Board. Rasmussen, of Tallahassee, is a retired chief executive officer and president of SunTrust Bank South Florida. 

M. ANN ROBINSON, PATRICK CANNON AND ALLISON FLANAGAN have been appointed or reappointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Rehabilitation Council. Robinson, of Tallahassee, is the intake manager for Disability Rights Florida. Cannon, of Tallahassee, is a sales associate for Helzberg Diamond Shops, Inc. Flanagan, of Tallahassee, is director of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation.

DANIEL O’KEEFE has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Seminole State College Board of Trustees. O’Keefe, of Longwood, is the Orlando office managing partner at Moore, Stephens Lovelace, P.A.

DAN LEBEN has been appointed by Gov. Rick Scott to the Florida Keys Community College Board of Trustees. Leben, of Key Largo, is owner of SmartScript Pharmacy. 

SHARON BOCK has been sworn in as president of Florida Court Clerks and Comptrollers. Bock is the Palm Beach County clerk and comptroller.
